Healing Effects of the Himalayan Salt Lamp

LAMP.png

Popularly known as white gold, Himalayan Salt has been around for millions of years and match  84  types of minerals and elements found in the human body.  Among the multiple health benefits of this pure salt, claims that the negative salt ions released by heating can boost blood flow, improve sleep, increase levels of serotonin in the brain, and calm allergy or asthma symptoms. These negative ions are said to neutralize electromagnetic radiation from household electronics, and even prevents the build-up of static electricity.

While in search of crystals in Jeddah, I was brought to the home of a female healer who had the Himalayan salt lamp. At that moment, I instantly recalled desiring to bring one back from abroad yet resisted due to the weight and  voltage. Voila, I stumbled upon the magnificent lamp before me and came to know her husband is a distributor of the same.

All the benefits associated with the Himalayan salt lamp, seem too good to be true. It’s too early at this point for me to affirm all claims yet to date I have felt a dramatic  effect  on my inner space.  It actually feels like an ancient consciousness present in my space through its serene natural colors and when lit, creates a magnetic luminous glow.

Interesting Facts

Himalayan Crystal Salt is the most beneficial, cleanest salt available on this planet. It was formed about 250 million years ago where the energy of the sun has dried up the original, primal sea. This crystal salt is absolutely pristine and natural, identical in composition to the ancient primal ocean. It contains all the elements found in our bodies. This special salt is only waiting for the moment to have its inherent stored energy and its bio-photon content set free, by adding water to it. Such crystalline brine is a pure ocean of energy. This Natural Crystal Salt has been exposed to enormous pressure for millions of years. This pressure was the cause of the formation of this crystal salt. The higher the compression, the more perfect its crystalline structure, and its inherent information/energy, giving these rock crystals beautiful geometric structure.

Crystal salt floats in transparent, whitish, pinkish or reddish shiny veins in the salt mountain and crystallizes in areas where sufficient pressure was available to form this perfect crystalline structure. The more transparent and colorless the crystals are, the higher their purity. The more geometrically perfect the cube shaped crystal is, the higher is the information and energetic content. Compare its structure to a diamond.

In this crystal salt, the elements are available in such tiny particles (colloidal size) that they can be easily absorbed by the human cells and metabolized. Crystal Salt was once called “King Salt” because it was reserved for Royalty. Common Citizens only got Rock Salt.

In House

Using lamps in bedrooms, living rooms hallways or elsewhere you want to create a relaxing and serene atmosphere and it can serve as a night-light and improve nighttime breathing.

Childrens Room

The lamps make a wonderful night light. Their warm glow has a calming effect on children and the natural salt lamps help clean the air and stop the spread of molds and bacteria.

 The Healing Effects of Salt

For thousands of years salt has been known as a panacea. Alchemists called it “the fifth element” –besides water, earth, air and fire- because its qualities were comparable only to ether, the actual fifth element. Why are we so drawn to the ocean? Because our subconscious mind instinctively wants to return to the specific vibrational state of the ocean from which we once emerged. This is where we can return to recharge our batteries and regenerate. It was only one hundred years ago with the advent of industrialization, that we initiated our disconnection from nature and her ways. Fortunately, we are witnessing a trend to return back to natural, holistic methods for living and caring for our body, including a shift back to utilizing natural salts in this process. People everywhere are reconsidering the healing effects of natural crystal salt. We can find it in skin care lotions, for use as bath salts and is even used in inhalation or cleansing treatments for illnesses of the respiratory system and for a variety of other indications.

Sort the Closet, Sort Life

Q) Unlike before, I am faced with a highly disorganized life after my move and starting work. Please advice.

A) The first place to target when faced with disorganization is one’s closet. Sort the closet, sort life. The closet is a mirror of our life today. Declutter, organize and keep it neat. Do not aim for perfection or obsess about intricate details lest you get off track . Focus on keeping “items and belongings in order”. This in turn will magically sort out your life and keep it reasonably in order. Last point, remember to give away an item(s) whenever a new item enters the closet. Prosperity thrives when money is in motion. Hoarding comes from insecurity which stems from attachment and an expression of belief in scarcity. Hoarding is stagnant energy which blocks off new energy to enter our life.

Wishing you prosperity & abundance,

Removing Accumulated Negative Energy Through Purging Old Belongings

Q) Every time I enter my parent’s home, it’s as if I am overwhelmed in thoughts, lack clarity and feel very tense. There house is heavily cluttered and almost every corner is occupied and I simply cannot do anything but be occupied in thinking about the objects in front of me. Please shed some light on what I can do..

A)A great way to help aging parents apart from the normal is to help them declutter their belongings. This is something I find myself inevitably getting into each summer. As parents age they may overlook belongings and keep unnecessary items in their home. In our attempt to be of effective help, clearing space is a great way to help aging parents. Letting things go, emptying space helps in detachment to useless things in our life and proven to be very therapeutic. Not only does this  lighten their burden but removes tons of mental blocks, which in turn is a healer in itself . For the past few days I  have  been busy purging a lot of stuff from my parents home. Loads of paper work, books and unused items were donated, thrown/given away.

Interestingly enough, the same day we posted this message on our Qudra Support Group, a seeker related the following,

“Qudra, my mom saw you in her dream yesterday. She said you were  taking away all the old clothes from our home. She said she felt good in the dream that all old stuff is going away. She saw you in the dream for the first time and was very excited. I was amazed to see today’s topic as it’s related.

Have you ever seen someone in a bad mood walk into a room and bring everyone in it down? The atmosphere in the entire room changes. Suddenly everyone becomes more irritable, on edge, and pessimistic. Likewise, a person in a great mood can walk in and make everyone feel better, lighter, and more optimistic. Suddenly people are joking around more, smiling and laughing. What happened? From an energetic standpoint, the person walking into the room actually changed the vibration of the people who were already there, and brought them down or up to their level. We actually have the ability to affect each other’s vibrations, especially if we’re not conscious of the fact that this is happening.

Each of us is emanating a vibration, which is the result of our predominant thoughts and beliefs in each given moment. So, if one person is thinking happy thoughts and feeling good, they’re giving off a high, positive vibration. If another person is thinking sad thoughts and feeling bad, they’re giving off a low, negative vibration.

When these two people come together, one of three things is going to happen.

Scenario 1

If the person with the higher vibration is more stable in their frequency, the other person’s lower vibration will be raised to meet the higher one.

What do I mean by “stable”?

In the above graph, Mr. Yellow Smiley Man is in a great mood because it’s his birthday. He’s decided that because it’s his birthday, he’s going to be in a good mood all day. He refuses to let anything bother him, and he walks around humming a little tune. Nothing can get him down. He is very stable in his high vibration.

Mr. Green Smiley Man is in a bad mood, because he got annoyed by traffic on the way to work. But he’s not obsessing about it. So when the two Smiley Men meet, Mr. Green’s vibration is changed by Mr. Yellow’s. He will gradually feel better and better until eventually, if they stay in the same space long enough, and providing that Mr. Yellow continues to stay stable in his vibration, Mr. Green will feel just as good as Mr. Yellow.

Scenario 2

If the person with the lower vibration is more stable in their frequency, the other person’s higher vibration will decrease to meet the lower one.

Mr. Green Smiley Man is in a bad mood because he hates his job. He thinks a lot about how much he hates his job. In fact, it’s pretty much all he thinks about while he’s at work. Mr. Green is very stable in his low, negative vibration.

Mr. Yellow Smiley Man is in a good mood because he got a great parking spot. It put a smile on his face. The parking spot isn’t that important, though, and he doesn’t really think much about it after he walks into his office. His high vibration isn’t very stable, at all.

When the two Smiley Men meet this time, Mr. Green begins to complain to Mr. Yellow about how crappy his job is, how the deadlines are too short, and how the food in the cafeteria is always the same. Mr. Yellow’s vibration is changed by Mr. Green’s. He will gradually feel worse and worse until eventually, if they stay in the same space long enough, and providing that Mr. Green continues to stay stable in his vibration, Mr. Yellow will feel just as bad as Mr. Green does.

Scenario 3

Both Mr. Yellow and Mr. Green are stable in their respective vibrations. When this happens, the two CANNOT stay in the same space. Have you ever been in a bad mood and someone all shiny and happy came into the room? Didn’t they just annoy the crap out of you? Didn’t you just want to slap the smile right off their face? You couldn’t stand to be around them, and as soon as you had the chance to, you got away from them. Your vibrations were literally repelling each other.

When we live non-consciously, when we don’t train ourselves to hold the vibration of our choosing, two things happen:

First, we tend to be a lot more stable in our negative vibrations than our positive ones. That means, a person in a bad mood will be much more likely to bring someone in a good mood down, rather than the opposite happening.

Second, we are at the mercy of whoever is around us.

These two criteria added together will result in rapidly spreading lower vibrations. Is it more likely for you to walk into an office where everyone is generally happy, or everyone is generally grouchy?

But we can stop this cycle. All we have to do is learn to stabilize our vibrations. Not only will this mean that we are no longer affected negatively by others, but we will actually be able to influence others in a positive way.

So, how do you stabilize your vibration? It’s hard to find a higher vibration when you’re miserable, so you can start by working your way up the emotional scale, as well as raising your vibration. Once you’re in a better mood, you can simply decide to focus deliberately on thoughts that make you feel good. Just like when it’s your birthday, you can decide that nothing’s going to bring you down. Keep focusing on reasons to feel good. It’s a beautiful day. The receptionist smiled at you on the way in. You got a good parking spot. Your children are healthy. Your favorite team won last night. It doesn’t matter what the reason is, as long as you intentionally focus on it. You are deliberately and consciously making yourself feel good.

And when you are intentionally feeling good, you are stable in your vibration. Practice holding a strong, higher frequency. You’ll notice that people in a bad mood – grouchy, pessimistic people – will either change in your presence, or will simply not be able to stand being around you. The Law of Attraction won’t be able to bring you together. They’ll have an impulse to go to lunch a little earlier than you, or park in a different spot so you don’t see them on the way in.

What’s more, if you’re truly stable in your high vibration, you won’t be bothered by their bad mood anymore. If you find yourself being bothered by it, you’re allowing them to lower your vibration to meet theirs. Stop that. Just keep focusing on thoughts that feel good. Stay strong in your high frequency and the Law of Attraction must bring you vibrations that match it. Your world will become a much friendlier, more beautiful place.

The Feminine Energy Shift

THE FEMININE ENERGY SHIFT: A Scientific Perspective
by Annie Meredith

Female healerWe live in an era of explosive change encoded in the heavens and foretold in the prophecies of spiritual traditions around the world. A wave of evolution touches all areas of our world and our lives, from climate change and economic freefall to politics, business, medicine, the arts, religion, education and science. This magical moment in Earth’s history is a turning point, a time of shifting consciousness filled with quantum possibilities for transforming our lives and our world.

In an earlier post I spoke about the Feminine Energy Shift currently taking place globally, heralding a transformation from the old patriarchal paradigm to the ‘new’ feminine consciousness.

As above, so below – what is happening at the human level of existence is mirrored at the geo-physical level where change is happening at a disquieting rate.

Scientists have been baffled by the expansion of ice in Antarctica (the South Pole), while the opposite is happening in the Arctic Circle (the North Pole) – ice is retracting fast.

A recent finding by the British Antarctic Survey and the US space agency NASA explains an apparent contradiction between the recent record thaw of ice in the Arctic and an increase in ice around Antarctica during the past 30 years.

The scientists say damage to the ozone layer, which shields the planet from ultraviolet rays, cooled the stratosphere and disrupted wind patterns around Antarctica.

They say that the shift meant winds blew off the continent more often, cooling the sea and creating more ice.

Sea ice around Antarctica has expanded at a rate of around 100,000 square kilometres per decade since the 1970s, and now covers an area of about 19 million square kilometres at its winter maximum, doubling the size of the continent.

By contrast, summer sea ice around the North Pole shrank in 2007 to the smallest since satellite records began in the 1970s.

Symbolically speaking, the South Pole, which classically relates to yin and the feminine polarity, is literally gaining ground, while the yang, male polarity is retracting.

The scientific reason being given is the hole in the ozone layer. While a hole in the protective layer around the planet cools the stratosphere creating new wind currents, it also means an increase in solar energy (sunlight) penetrating the stratosphere and affecting the globe.

In metaphysical terms, an increase in light represents an increase in consciousness coming in to the planet from higher dimensions, bringing change.

Wind, metaphysically, relates to change, and the world is currently experiencing a whirlwind of change on every level, especially change that is aligned with the feminine principle (cool winds coming off the Antarctic continent – the yin pole).

An increase in feminine energy around the globe heralds a radical change in the way that we have been thinking. This shift calls on both males and females to embrace a new world order to replace the old ways, which, clearly, are no longer serving humanity or the planet.

The feminine principle is more about:

nurturing others rather than focusing singularly on one’s own needs (e.g. questioning corporate high flyers taking the cream off the top and calling for equality in wealth-sharing),
connecting and networking with others rather than competing against others (NB. the power of the internet to connect people),
conserving resources rather than expending them (the environmental duty of care as opposed to mindless plundering of planetary resources)
a desire to move towards peaceful global co-existence rather than war and destruction instigated by wealthier nations flexing their power hungry muscles and territorial skirmishes.
“This new research helps us solve some of the puzzle of why sea ice is shrinking in some areas and growing in others,” says John Turner of BAS and lead author of the report, which appears in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

So too, does a thoughtful recognition of how geo-physical changes are a distinct parallel with consciousness changes currently sweeping the planet.

Let’s welcome the change with joy and celebration, supporting the new paradigm in our everyday lives by embracing the feminine, softer side within us all, whether we are male or female.

Lightworkers on the Rise 11 11 11

“Beyond the narrow barriers of race and creed we can all unite, because we all belong to one God.” (Hazrat Inayat Khan)

What is a Light Worker?

By Adeon

Lightworker (noun);Any being dedicated to the cultivation of inner presence and the elevation of awareness in self and other selves. This being is called a lightworker and is an evolutionary step toward a state of “LightBeing”
What’s happening in the world?
There is an awakening happening all around the world. And that awakening involves you and every being that exists on our lovely home planet, mother earth. We are truly entering a renaissance of spiritual evolution, an evolutionary process that proceeds and transcends the physical. Our wisdom stems from coming to understand how little we conceptually know about life, god, the universe and everything, and embracing the fundamental truth of inherent divinity within all life.

What is a Lightworker?
Everyone is a Lightworker whether they know it at all. Just as truth is truth whether anyone knows it or not. The real question arises then, “Am I aware of who I am?” Behind all labels, behind all self created illusions of mind and ego, or social dogmas and masks, there lies the truth, the answer to that question. Just as the Sun shines bright both day and night, it is only the movement of the planet and clouds that obscure it from view. But the sun is always shining. A Lightworker is awake to this truth, aware of their true presence and living in accordance with the divine plan. All beings that exist are a channel between eternal, formless heaven and the temporary world of form and illusion, earth. Why am I here? One does not always need to consciously realize the answer to this question, but living your life purpose is achievable in every moment, right now. Sit in peaceful contemplation, in pure awareness. Allow yourself to be present in every moment and feel within the depths of your heart for your inner truth, your guidance. The work is easy and the burden is light. Your true essence of being is so vast, it is beyond any concept, any word, thought or form. A Lightworker then is any being, who is aware of their true non-dual nature, their eternal “I Am” Presence and acting in accordance with it. A Lightworker is active in enlightenment, or in cultivating enlightenment.

What is Lightworking?
Just as the sun rises each morning, to shine its light into the world, so it is with lightworking. To walk upon the face of the planet lightly, light in spirit and bearing, and shine love, happiness, tranquillity and peace into the world. To calm the inner turmoil, to just be, and be at one with who you truly are, to love and honour life as an expression of divinity, to love all that is, that power some call god, and of course to love one and other unconditionally. In being true to the divine presense within all beings, and releasing all false thought forms, all masks and illusions, is the essence of lightworking. In this lightworking emanates love, happiness, joy, faith, hope and inspiration into the inner and outer world. This not only helps to awaken the lightworker, but also to awaken others to their own natural state. What can be called enlightenment, what may be called ascension. A Lightworkers divine mission then comes to life, as one enters the flow of creation and maintains the presence of awareness without being caught up in the turmoil of the creation. This is done in the service of all. For all beings (self included), all the time.

What does a Lightworker do?
All life exists for a sacred purpose. A Lightworker, that is a being, aware of their true presence, their inner awareness and non-dual nature then becomes a vehicle for divine activation. This role is a very simple and a natural one. When the illusionary self is dissolved into the true sense of being, the IAM presence, a being begins to shine and resonate this mandala field of pure state bliss. The transition starts from Lightworker to Light Being. This activation can occur anywhere, in any situation, in all places, roles and demographics, from the mother at home to the soldier in the military, even in the depths of the darkest regions of human nature this blossoming occurs. It can be slow, or instant. It has been this way for eternity. For all the people, all the time. All for one and one for all. This is the effortless state of being, devoid of all grasping, all seeking. This is existence under a blue sky, and bright sunshine, exposing all to the life giving energies of our divine source.

Subtle Activism Defined

What is Subtle Activism?

Subtle Activism is an activity of consciousness or spirit, such as prayer, meditation, or ecstatic dance, intended to support collective healing and social change. Subtle Activism grows from the idea that there are many effective ways – some newly emerging, many as old as humanity – to positively influence social change other than overt political action.

Traditional methods of front-line activism (e.g., marches, demonstrations, putting one’s body in front of bulldozers, etc), represent only the most immediate and direct expressions of action for social change. It is possible to identify a spectrum of social action that proceeds from the more obvious or overt forms down a graded scale of increasing subtlety. At the subtlest level, even certain activities of consciousness or spirit can be recognized as forms of social action.

A global meditation and prayer event, in which hundreds of thousands of people around the planet unite in silence and prayers for world peace, is a prime example of subtle activism.

For two excellent introductory articles about subtle activism, please see David Nicol’s Subtle Activism: Applying Spiritual Power for Social Change and Sean Kelly’s The Hidden Face of Wisdom – Towards an Awakened Activism.

Subtle activism is primarily intended for collective healing and social transformation. Meditating for one’s own liberation would not be considered subtle activism, but meditating for peace on Earth would be. Praying for the health of one’s personal friend is not subtle activism, but praying for a community struck by natural disaster is. It is important and wonderful to send healing to ourselves, our friends, and our families, but the goal of subtle activism is to encourage us to extend our healing focus beyond our local family to our greater community.

Forms of Subtle Activism

Many kinds of actions can exert subtle positive influence on the social realm and thus might be considered forms of subtle activism. For example, certain kinds of intellectual contributions, and various forms of inspirational art and music are types of action that support positive social change through less overt or direct means than conventional approaches to activism (demonstrations, marches, lobbying, etc). We are especially interested in the spiritual dimension of subtle activism, hence our definition: “those forms of spiritual practice intended to support collective healing and social change.”

“Spiritual practice” means prayer, meditation, ritual, or any other kind of spiritual or consciousness practice, from any tradition. It includes ecstatic dance, devotional chanting, and other kinds of expressive practices. We understand that the word “spiritual” means different things for different people. We consider a practice to be “spiritual” if it is oriented toward wholeness and healing and motivated by universal values such as love, compassion, and universal justice. It is not necessary that the approach be explicitly spiritual. For example, we would consider a practice that inspires awe and reverence for the Earth to be spiritual, even if the word spiritual is not mentioned.

Subtle activism also includes certain kinds of relational practices intended to help heal aspects of our collective shadow, especially when these take place in a sacred context. In individual inner work, most approaches include some form of the following two dimensions: 1) Making contact with our deeper essence through meditation, prayer or other spiritual practice; and 2) Transforming our limiting beliefs and behavior patterns by working through critical issues from our personal history.

Similarly, an important dimension of spiritual practices oriented toward collective healing and social transformation is a process of bringing up to consciousness ancient wounds and limiting patterns of thought inherited from our collective history (e.g., racism, sexism, heterosexism, anthropocentrism). Leading examples of this kind of subtle activism include Will Keepin’s Gender Reconciliation work (in which women and men come together in sacred space to heal gender injustice), Joanna Macy’s “The Work that Reconnects” (in which people uncover their innate connections with each other and the web of life), and Arnie Mindell’s WorldWork (an approach to working with groups that acknowledges and engages the political and psychological dimensions of issues that arise between members of the group).

We believe that there is enormous untapped power in these kinds of practices to support collective healing and social change.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIa1g6-VJM&feature=relmfu]

Who are Subtle Activists?

Subtle activists are people from any faith, spiritual or consciousness tradition who apply their practice for the benefit of the collective public realm.

A subtle activism practice influences social change through the inner or subtle planes, rather than through conventional exterior means. We seek to support change through our focused collective intention and the depth and quality of our being, rather than our outer actions. However we do not believe that subtle activism, on its own, can solve all the world’s problems, any more than a meditation practice, on its own, is sufficient to solve all our personal problems. Action in the world is of course also necessary. Subtle activism simply expands the range of options open to an awakened activist.

Subtle activism practices can be:
* religious or spiritual – e.g., meditation, prayer, chanting, and so on;
* indigenous ceremonies and ritual;
* science-based consciousness programs – e.g., Heartmath’s heart appreciation exercises;
* expressive arts – e.g., conscious media, ecstatic dance (like Earthdance), contemplative music, etc; and
* relational/process-oriented – e.g., healing aspects of our collective shadow, such as gender or racial reconciliation workshops.

Subtle activists focus on collective healing, which includes and transcends personal healing. Collective focuses could be:
* peace on Earth;
* support for communities struck by natural disasters, such as the Myanmar cyclone, the Chinese earthquake, etc;
* protection for all those in potential harm’s way, such as public figures, emergency workers, etc; and
* the highest and best outcome for all during an important public event, such as a national election.

We honor subtle activists everywhere, the secret agents of compassion. Blessings!

The Power Of The Heart

 By  Linda Marks

The human heart creates an electromagnetic field greater than that generated by the human brain, in fact 5,000 times greater.

HEART FACTS
Research by the Institute for HeartMath in California4 has shown that the heart is the most powerful generator of electromagnetic energy in the human body:
o The heart’s electrical field is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the electrical activity generated by the brain.
o The magnetic field produced by the heart is more than 5000 times greater in strength than the field generated by the brain
o The electromagnetic energy of the heart not only envelops every cell of the human body, but also extends out in all directions in the space around us
o Our cardiac field touches those within 8 – 10 feet of where we are positioned (and perhaps in more subtle ways at greater distances)
o One person’s heart signal can effect another’s brainwaves, and heart-brain synchronization can occur between two people when they interact
o Research conducted at the Institute of HeartMath suggests that the heart’s field is an important carrier of information
Our mental and emotional state impacts the quality of contact we offer to another person. When we touch one another with safe, respectful, loving intention both physically and emotionally, we call into play the full healing power of the heart. The greater the “coherence”–a sense that life is comprehensible, manageable and meaningful– one develops, the more sensitive one becomes to the subtle electromagnetic signals communicated by those around them.
In my experience working with groups, the combined impact of the interaction of the electromagnetic fields of all the group members’ hearts creates a powerful space in which individuals can do deeper healing work than one-on-one. As one group member goes deeper, and gets closer to their core, the others in the group feel the energetic vibration of this person’s “heart opening” and are touched by it–energetically, as well as emotionally.
LESSONS FROM THE POWER OF THE HEART
Having a greater understanding of the role and power of the heart sheds light on how to think about a wide range of human experience.
1. Heartpower and our genetic make-up: Dorothy Mandel writes, “”Genetically, cells adapt to what they perceive their environment to be. Because an event experienced in the midst of a heart response will be perceived and interpreted very differently than an event experienced in the midst of a stress response, the heart can also powerfully affect genetic expression”5Becoming more heart aware and working towards authentic emotional expression and inner peace may positively impact our genetic health.
2. Heart consciousness and pregnancy: Following from the point above, the quality of our heart energy during pregnancy impacts the developing baby’s experience. At a prenatal and perinatal psychology workshop I participated in many years ago, Thomas Verny, the facilitator, discussed the research of an Italian colleague that explored how a mother’s conscious and subconscious feelings about the pregnancy impacted the child.
When a mother both consciously and subconsciously wanted to be pregnant and welcomed her baby, the child thrived. When the mother either consciously or subconsciously wanted the baby, the child was fine. When the mother neither consciously nor subconsciously wanted the baby, the child felt the effects of this hostile emotional climate. I remember a story of a woman who not only didn’t want her baby but also resented his intrusive presence in her body. When the Italian doctor would use an ultrasound to view the baby as the mother talked about her resentments of him and the pregnancy, the baby would curl up in a tiny ball in a corner of the uterus, trying to make himself very small. Even in-utero, a baby can feel the power of his/her mother’s heart.
When considering having children, making a thoughtful, heartful, integrated decision is important for the overall wellbeing of a child.
3. The power of touch: When we reach out and touch another person, we are literally extending the energy of our hearts. We can understand why loving, present, respectful touch is such a powerful healing force. Likewise, hurtful touch carries deep messages that register in the heart and body, both in the moment and over time. Learning to engage our hearts consciously in touch can bring forth the natural healer in each of us.
4. The power of love: Love is more than an emotion. It is an electromagnetic phenomenon. When someone is coming to you from a place of love, it feels different than when someone is coming to you from a place of indifference or dislike. The energetic current transmitted from one person to another varies with their state of heart. Being received with love day after day must be incredibly nourishing for the soul.
5. Getting stuck in triggered behavior patterns: Because one person’s heartwaves register in another person’s brainwaves, when one person gets emotionally triggered or stuck, the impact of their emotional energy may be strong enough to immobilize the other person. Have you ever felt stuck yourself when a loved one has been triggered by your behavior? If two people are triggered at once, their hearts and brains interact in a dance of difficult energy waves. Just as an electrical outlet needs to be grounded, so do our emotional energetic circuits. When a couple gets stuck, a third party can help break the pattern by containing and grounding the energy of the relational circuit.
6. The pain of isolation: Just as we nourish each other when we share loving, open hearts, life becomes more empty and barren when we lack energetic contact with others’ hearts. Isolation is at first painful, and often numbing if too much time goes by. Human beings need to touch and be touched, both physically and emotionally. Our heart’s energy fields are enriched by connecting with others’ hearts.
7. The power of heartfull community: Since our hearts influence our brains, imagine the impact of sitting in a circle of healing community! Imagine what the electromagnetic energy diagram would look like of a group of people speaking and listening from their hearts! The energy grid formed by a heartfull community must be strong and far reaching!
8. Resolving conflict: Heartfelt communication between two people not only deepens the dialogue, but also enhances the energy field between them. If we can get underneath a conflict and address the heart of the matter, healing and closeness can take place.
Overall, we have a lot to gain through consciously harnessing the power of the heart. We can have healthier bodies, greater intimacy and satisfaction in our relationships, and the nourishment and support of being connected to others living and thinking from the heart.

Metaphysics and Human Possibility

“If an electron can be at two places at one time, why can’t we?” This is an exciting proposition, and it reminds me of a story my Pakcik told me about his experience in his younger days.

It happened when he was in Mecca for the Muslim pilgrimage, over three decades ago. He was there with his late father, but had left his wife and children back home in Kuala Lumpur.

One day he met an elderly Spiritual Teacher, who invited him home and gave him daily lessons on religion, and on healing. When he met the Teacher, he was alone, and was always the only one with the Teacher at the latter’s home during the lessons. So, one day, he decided to bring his father.

To his amazement, he could not even find the house that he had been going to every day. The house had actually disappeared! On the next day, he had no difficulty at all finding the house when he went alone for his lessons.

On one occasion, when he was missing his wife so much, the Teacher asked him whether he would like to be home with them for a while. He jumped at the offer. He was asked to close his eyes and hold the Teacher’s hands while the latter recited certain verses in supplication. Then when he was asked to open his eyes, he found himself standing in the middle of the main hall of his house in Taman Ibu Kota, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur!

His wife was busy making cookies and their young children were playing around her. But he could not speak to them, and they could not see him or sense his presence. He was allowed to stay for as long as he desired, and when he was satisfied, he found himself in front of the Teacher again.

Many years later, back in Malaysia, he came across a book about Malay Muslim Teachers and discovered from the descriptions and drawings that his teacher was Shaykh Daud al-Fatani (from Pattani, which is now a province in Thailand), who had died over 100 years ago.

My Teacher also told me a similar story, except that this time he was physically transposed and everyone could see him. This happened over two decades ago when his own Teacher was alive and they were in a city in Pakistan.

One day he asked the elder Teacher whether it was possible to travel to another place in an instant, as he had heard and read so much about it. The elder Teacher replied in the affirmative, and asked him if he would like to experience it. He of course accepted the offer. He was asked to walk straight through the wall of the room they were in. When he tried, he hurt his face when he banged it against the wall.

Next, the elder Teacher held his hand and asked him to close his eyes and they smoothly walked through the wall together. When he opened his eyes, he was doing the tawaf (circumbulating) around the Kaabah in Mecca. He was physically there, jostling among the thousands of people doing the tawaf. Several weeks later, back in Pakistan, a neighbour who said that he was behind my Teacher during the tawaf, returned his (my Teacher’s) pen which he had dropped but could not retrieve while doing the ritual circumbulation. Not only was my Teacher physically transposed to Mecca, there was proof because the neighbour brought back his pen via the usual physical way.

What is Metaphysics?

By Dr. Amir Farid Isahak

Metaphysics is the science and philosophy relating to the transcendent, or reality beyond what is perceptible to the senses. It investigates and tries to explain the supernatural and the abstract, just as conventional science (and physics is one branch of it) investigates and tries to explain nature and natural phenomena. However, metaphysics is more spiritual and philosophical than scientific.

Quantum physicists (scientists who study the nature and behaviour of atoms and their components, and the forces that govern them) have long known that certain fundamental particles (the smallest components of all physical matter) actually have a dual existence. They can exist either as energy waves, or as particulate matter, and that the expectation (mind) of the observer influences the behaviour of these energy/particle entities.

For the people described above to be transposed, there must have been some change in the energy/matter behaviour of their physical bodies. Depending on the energy form that the transposition involves, the transposed form may or may not be in the form that is detectable by our physical senses (or even scientific instruments). The realm of spirits, energy, and transposition of matter are exciting subjects that can only be fathomed if we accept that there is existence beyond what science knows.

In other words, where physics ends, metaphysics begins.

Electrons and healing

Electrons are the fundamental particles which surround the nucleus of an atom. They travel so fast that their position at any one time cannot be determined. The paths they traverse are described as electron clouds, and the electron particles themselves seem to be at many places at one time. The energy of the atom determines the level or distance that the electrons orbit from the central nucleus. But unlike the orbits of moons and planets, their orbital planes always change, and it is easier to visualise their orbital shells rather than orbital planes.

Energy and electrons basically determine the behaviour of atoms, and are involved intimately in how our cells survive and function. Health and disease ultimately can be traced to the cellular and biochemical levels, and a good understanding of these levels will help us tremendously in our quest to resist and recover from diseases.

We now know that electrons play very important roles in the workings of free radicals and antioxidants, both of which are crucial in our understanding of health, ageing, chronic diseases and cancers. Electron flow is essential in the production of electricity, and in all things electronic. Low-current electricity is the basis for many healing gadgets, some of which I have discussed in previous articles. Electronic medicine is an area that is fast gaining popularity.

Qi = quantum energy

In trying to understand qi and its healing effects, scientific tests have been carried out. But the complete understanding of qi has been elusive, because qi appears to be scientific as well as unscientific. It behaves like some of the electromagnetic energy forms (for example, infrared and infrasound); it behaves like the forces that hold sub-nuclear fundamental particles together (for example, gluon); defies physical laws (by being intelligent); and seems to have memory and emotions. Trying to understand qi requires a quantum leap from conventional science.

Qi is not only energy, but a lot more. Just like the saying about Tao: if you know it, it is not Tao. So it is at the moment with qi. If you can fully describe it, it is not qi!

And just as physicists discovered that the energy/particle nature of the smallest units of matter is determined by the observer, the nature of qi is also determined by the master. The Qigong master who understands most the variabilities and capabilities of qi will most likely be able to utilise more of the potential of qi in healing, and in many other areas.

Likewise, practitioners of other healing arts which involve energy or esoteric elements would be more effective if they understand metaphysics. Aromatherapy, aura healing, crystal healing, flower remedies, homoeopathy, phytobiophysics, vibrational therapy, and the whole gamut of complementary therapies can all benefit from a better understanding of metaphysics.

Automatic qigong

When automatic qigong is demonstrated, my students often asked if I had summoned spirits to do the movements that ensue. To the uninitiated, it could easily seem so, for when qi is summoned, it becomes a force of power, bravery, fearlessness and determination. When qi is summoned for healing, it becomes a force of compassion, empathy, gentleness and softness.

It can also be harnessed as a force of peace and wisdom. The Jedi Masters of the Star Wars hexalogy are the best examples of masters who use the Force for self-defence, peace and wisdom. May the Force, Peace and Wisdom be with you, too.

Collective Consciousness: Arabia, Quraysh, and the Universe

Millions flock annually to Makkah for the Annual Consciousness Gathering; "The Hajj." Each pilgrim representing "Oneness with the Universe."

At the dawn of the 6th Century, the Quraysh were the dominant tribe in Arabia. The unprecedented proliferation of trade, science, and arts heralded by the dawn of Islam thrust the Quraysh to a position of international prominence. To this day, the Quraysh occupy a special place in the Arab and Muslim collective consciousness, revered for their inimitable contribution to the development of codes, alliances and practices that continue to shape our world. However, even before being elevated to such lofty heights, the Quraysh were known throughout pre-Islamic Arabia for their strong legal and business traditions.

In the Quraysh experience, the three guiding elements of unity, justice and collective action constituted a comprehensive worldview. Trade, cultural and religious festivals, and the need to co-exist with one’s neighbours, all demanded collaboration, efficient communication, and equitable legal conventions. This in turn laid the foundation for interdependence, and unity.

Unity

The very word ‘Quraysh’ is said to come from the Arabic word for gathering or getting together, taqarrush, relating to the efforts to unite the peoples of the Arabian Peninsula. The spirit of taqarrush would prove to be central to the growth of Arab and Islamic civilisations, whereby people of different nations and races where brought together under one banner, exhibiting ‘diversity within unity’.

Justice

The pursuit of justice runs deep in Quraysh’s history, as shown by the Fudul Pact (Hilf al-Fudul), a 6th Century bill of rights protecting visiting merchants in Mecca from abuse by the locals. With this, the Quraysh elders established that justice takes precedence over bonds of blood and ancestry. Numerous other Pacts, or ahlaf, offer examples of negotiated conventions addressing different concerns ranging from regulating access to resources, such as water, to the protection of property, and the resolution of social and familial disputes.

Trade protections were a recurrent feature of the pre-Islamic Quraysh. In most cases, the protection was offered to foreign merchants, who shared neither the Quraysh’s language nor their pre-Islamic pagan religion. A frequent statement in the negotiation of these trade conventions was, “Your rights must be equivalent to your responsibilities,” thereby exemplifying the equitable basis of Quraysh’s relations with others.

Collective Action

For many generations, Quraysh tradesmen sold their merchandise only in Arabian markets, mostly in Mecca’s trade-cum-religious festivals. Ultimately, however, the Quraysh convinced the Byzantine Empire to open its markets to Arabian products.

This institutional open exchange, or ilaf, would alter fundamentally the course of history. Not only did it connect Arabian and Byzantine markets, but it also encouraged the exchange of ideas. By the time of their adoption of Islam, the Quraysh, and Arabia itself, were firmly part of a wider world with a myriad of different peoples, languages, and traditions. After the spread of Islam to the Levant, Egypt, and beyond, the legacy of ilaf fulfilled itself through the creation of complex networks of religious and secular interactions throughout the entire region.

Furthermore, the Quraysh dialect of Arabic provided the basis for the lingua franca of what became the world’s largest cultural and economic unit, binding together diverse peoples all the way from the Atlantic Ocean to the Himalayas. Arabic also came to be used by European intellectuals who studied Arab literary and scientific texts, and especially by European merchants who traded with the Arab lands of the Mediterranean. Moreover, the legal, and economic traditions first laid down in Arabia informed and influenced practices and behaviours wherever Arabs, and Muslims were to be found. As such, even though time has seen the political centre of gravity move far from the homeland of the Quraysh, their legacy continues to permeate and guide legal, business, and interpersonal relations across the globe.

Collective Consciousness, a term used often these days, is a common attitude or thinking or belief of the society or a major part of it for any given topic. The term collective consciousness was coined by a French man Emile Durkheim in 1870s.

Collective consciousness or mass conscious or the common thinking of the population has similar impact on the reality, which may be good or bad for the society. Most experts believe that the reality can be altered by altering the direction of consciousness or the thinking process of the population. However, the most people in world is unaware about this phenomenon and are ignorant about doing anything for the society as a whole. This is known as collective unconsciousness.

There have been several instances where people have practiced collective consciousness to avoid major threats to the society. These instances include Harmonic Convergence, Earth Day, etc. Humans have managed to avoid possible catastrophes through mass prayers and sending positive energy to the universe.

Scientists have been continuously trying to gauge the impact of collective consciousness on the society. On January 23, 1997, scientist tried to measure the effect, when people gathered for the Gaiamind Meditation Event, and the results were positive. Many scientists now agree that the theories that were formed by mystics are true to an extent. The influence of collective consciousness can be experienced on space and time, and positive results can be intentionally brought.

Collective consciousness works on the same principle as mentioned in the law of attraction. The positive series of thoughts create positive energies that are sent to the universe, and the universe responds back in the form of reality. However, any kind of thought is believed to have an impact on the society. Even if the population thinks “we don’t want terrorist attacks’, it attracts such attacks. Hence, any kind of thought, whether positive or negative attracts the mentioned things. Hence, in order to make it a success, people must first understand how it works. And it is not necessary to think together in an event. Each individual, whether in office, home or park, if thinks in the right direction, can attract positive results.
