While conventional medicine approaches healing primarily on the physical level, healing can occur on a nonphysical level of existence, as discussed by H. Dhar in 2009 in Bombay Hospital Journal. Dhar explains that although this type of existence is immaterial, it is the precursor to what becomes physical. Addressing illness on this level as opposed to the physical is thought to be more effective since it is addressing the problem at its source, Dhar says. However, such practice should never replace consulting a medical doctor or outweigh the advice of a doctor.

Theory

Quantum is a fraction of the size of an atom and behaves like a wave like light, Dhar explains. A quantum is invisible and comes from the consciousness, or mind, where quantums then come together and take physical form to become matter, according to Dhar.

Location

The idea of the nonlocal mind explains the mind as existing everywhere in space and time and this is why healing can occur remotely, as Larry Dossey explains in Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine.

Mechanism

Understanding exactly how quantum healing occurs appears to be beyond the comprehension of the human intellect, according to Dossey. He uses the analogy that it is like the story of the blind who encounter the elephant. Each man feels different parts and consequently is in disagreement about the nature of the animal as a whole. Similarly, the healer can observe healing take place, yet cannot identify within the process how the healing occurs.

Types

Meditation can result in connection to the superconsciousness, or higher self, which is defined as a higher level or more intelligent form of human existence that is closer to the supernatural, according to Dhar. It is in this connection to the supernatural where suffering and ills cease to exist, Dhar explains. He also describes mediation that focuses on the quantum level gets closer to the source of disease than do other forms of meditation that operate on the molecular level.

Phases

The first phase of quantum healing is when the healer enters into a meditative state that involves positive feelings such as compassion, warmth and serenity, according to Dossey. He describes the second phase as the biggest mystery of the process, yet it involves the intentions of healing having an influence on the person receiving the healing. The third phase is the physiological change in the person the healing is directed toward, such as positive changes in a heart condition.

Link between Lack of Sunlight & Depression

The exact connection between vitamin D and depression is not fully understood. There seems to be a correlation between the two, if not a direct causation. People with clinical depression have been found to have vitamin D deficiencies, though these could both be symptoms of a different root cause. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a condition that is thought to be linked with the declining exposure to bright light during the winter months, and a lack of sunlight can also create a vitamin D deficiency. Research suggests there may be a causative relationship between vitamin D and depression, since positive effects have been achieved through the administration of the compound to people suffering from depressive conditions.

There appears to be a link of some kind between vitamin D and depression. The human body is capable of synthesizing vitamin D if sufficient sunlight is available, so a deficiency is typically linked to a lack of natural light or a defect of some kind. A lack of sunlight can also cause symptoms of depression in some people, as seen in seasonal affective disorder. It is thought that the lack of sunlight has a negative effect on brain chemistry, though it is also possible that low levels of vitamin D production could contribute to this disorder and other forms of depression.

The human body depends on a type of light known as ultraviolet-b (UVB) to produce vitamin D. Studies and anecdotal evidence suggest that light therapy with UV filters can improve mood, suggesting that conditions such as SAD are not entirely caused by a lack of vitamin D or improved by its presence. Other studies, however, suggest that vitamin D can have a similar or complimentary affect on mood. One double blind study conducted in Australia suggested a causative relationship between vitamin D and depression. This study involved the administration of vitamin D3 and found positive results one standard deviation over the placebo.

Anecdotal evidence also suggestions a relationship between vitamin D and depression. Increased depression in recent history has coincided with a number of trends that have reduced human exposure to sunlight, particularly to the UVB necessary for the production of vitamin D. Urbanization and time spent working indoors, particularly in enclosed office environments, can dramatically cut down sunlight exposure. The potentially harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation have also resulted in the wide use of sunscreens, which can have the unintended effect of reducing vitamin D production. None of this necessarily proves that low levels of vitamin D cause depression, though a strong relationship can be seen nonetheless.

The Mind is A Magnet

The Magnetic, Attracting, Power of the Mind
by Remez Sasson
The power of the mind draws certain events, circumstances and people into our lives and repels others. In this respect, it resembles a magnet. Just look at the people around you. Some pass through certain events and circumstances, while others pass through different experiences. Some accomplish certain things easily, and others accomplish these same things with great difficulty or not at all.Your mind is composed of the thoughts you think. These thoughts are like magnetic currents. If you think positively about some event or action, you get positive results. If you harbor negative thoughts, this negativity is drawn into your life.

You attract into your life what you think about frequently. It does not mean that every thought gets materialized. Most of the thoughts are weak and are not repeated long enough to gain sufficient strength. Weak thoughts, like a weak magnet, hardly have any attractive power.

You have seen how a magnet draws metal objects. A strong and big magnet draws bigger objects than a small and weak one. Magnets have another peculiar characteristic. One side of the magnet draws, and the other side repels.

The power of attraction is a neutral power. The magnet draws to itself everything made of iron, no matter whether it is a useful object or junk. The mind acts in the same way. It attracts into your life positive and negative situations and events, according to the thoughts that you think.

Like the magnet the mind does not only attract, but also repels. If you do not believe that you can get or accomplish something, then you repel it. Thoughts of incompetence, weakness, fear and inferiority create a repellent force. It is as if you are creating a wind that blows away and prevents certain things to reach you.

There are several ways to charge your mind and thoughts with magnetic power. Strong desire, concentration and faith are some of the important ingredients for infusing power into thoughts.

Many activate the magnetic power of their mind unconsciously, without knowing what they are doing. When you know the rules, you become able to activate the magnetic power of your mind consciously, positively and effectively.

Visualizing and thinking with concentration, desire and faith, and repeating these thoughts often, unleashes powerful energy. Your thoughts get radiated and broadcasted, influencing the minds of other people, and attracting to you people who think along the same lines as you do and who can help you with your plans. This process also heightens your awareness and perceptiveness of any opportunity connected with your thoughts that comes your way, and fills you with the inner power and initiative to utilize it.

Why not become conscious of your thoughts, choose to think the ones that are beneficial for you, and consciously and advantageously utilize the power of attraction? You can attract people, circumstances, events, possessions or a life style with the magnetic power of attraction of your mind.

Remember, what you think about intently, with attention and feeling is attracted to you. It can be material and it can be spiritual. The power of attraction is a universal power and manifests everywhere and in everything. It is the power that holds the Universe together. Without it there would not be any world.
