What you see is not reality, what you feel is not reality, what you hear and dream of is not reality. Only HU is reality. HU is unknown and permeates all yet transcends all. Beyond human comprehension yet resides in the heart of all.

This article is dedicated in memory of Mystic Baba Khalwat Dar Anjaum, who recently returned to his Beloved. May the choicest favours enshroud Baba Anjamun who tirelessly spread the message of love.
Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Raheem
HU
The song of all, Allah HU.
The ancients of Babylonians chanted ‘Allah.’ Al- a Cannanite name of God and Elohim-God in Hebrew. HaShem is Allah; Elohim. When souls assemble to chant; in Zikr; to remember, a commemoration takes place remembering the great primordial gathering where all souls assembled praising, proclaiming, affirming through the great Chant, “Indeed you are our Lord.” HaShem asked in that realm, Am I not HaShem? Yes, we all replied. Allah asked, Alas tu bi Rabbikum? Am I not your Lord, Indeed (Bala), all souls replied.
Zikr means to remember. Acoustics are a medium to reacquaints us with our original state of remembrance. Repetition in Zikr serves the same purpose as affirmations. Zikr begins with tongue and with constant repetition of a particular mantra, it makes it way into the heart engraving the same. Mantras or Zikr are Divine words and phrases formulated to impact the subconscious mind and the heart chakra. The language used in Zikr is Arabic. Arabic like Sanskrit is believed to be an ancient revealed language carrying potent vibrational properties with every sound, syllable and letter. Tradition states that an Angel is appointed for every letter and to say in the least, we are reciting syllables, words and phrases supported with Angelic energy, which in effect heal our spirit. Chanting words for which temporal shedding of the ego through trance induced states dissolves man made barriers between body and soul. In order to enhance the acoustic effect play a significant role in energetic healing, Zikr gatherings chant synchronized mantras which may be accompanied with instruments. According to researcher and sound expert, Dr. Johen, chants treat ailments and mood. Zikr creates the DMT effect where our cells become supercharged through vibrations to the frequencies created through each individual present in the chant. We gather to praise, to proclaim the love of Ila, Elohim.
I will praise you, HaShem my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. Tehillim (Psalms) 86:12
Proclaim He is One. Allah , the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born. Nor is there to Him any equivalent
(Quran Ikhlaas)
What more a beautiful gathering on this plane where cast, creed and tradition aside, and all come together and remembering the day we praised, proclaimed and affirmed, “Verily you are our Lord.”
Guruma Anandmurti’s Commentary on Hu
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I60ZHdx5Og
The passage below by Guruma Anandmurti captured our attention, as it flawlessly explains the experience of Qudra Healing and a million other seekers who can relate to the effect of the perfect mirror, the twin soul, the Shams e Tabrez persona who becomes the means of breaking, rebirth and yearning for the Divine. Hence, we dedicate this post to the Shams e Tabrez personalities who can never be forgotten and unconditionally loved and have become the greatest teachers of Love for those who fell into their gaze.
The greatest teachers came without notice, taught without books the greatest lessons. Love was their language, grace was their method of delivery and they left without notice. They remain in our hearts, separate not from our being. Their tragic disappearance was only illusion. We are in essence One with whom we love. Thus we rephrase, this ‘tragic disappearance’ was actually the greatest bounty leading to a process of total dissolving and realization that there exists only ONE in the realm of Love.
Introduction
This is a prescription of love which has been transcribed below for the benefit of all seekers. To maximize the benefit of this article, the following instructions are recommended on how to read this passage.
Instructions
- Sit in a comfortable place free of noise and distrubance
- Play Anandmurti’s Hu video above
- While listening to the video above, read aloud the transcript below in unison with the video.
- Let the energy of your recital heal
Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi says, “The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you, don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want, don’t go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the door sill. The door is round and open, don’t go back to sleep. I would love to kiss you. The price of kissing is your life. Now my loving is running towards my life shouting, what a bargain, let’s buy it!”
One has to be a seeker, but before becoming a seeker one has to become a lover. You cannot become a lover if you have filled of worldly attachments. World is here in front of us, to give us experiential knowledge, understanding that it is a changeable transient entity. Laugh, sing, dance, make love, have children, create houses, money and power. And yet, in a moment death snatches everything and leaves you shivering and shaking in fear and ultimately drowing in unconsciousness.
It is not possible to taste the Divine wine of love, if you haven’t met a Shaikh; a mystic. One must become a ney, a reed flute. Once has to become empty, hollow, then all the poetry and all the music will come through you. This Divine Love occupies heart and mind and then all universe seems as if its just the Beloved peeping to us. From behind the sun, behind the stars and moon, flowers and trees, man and woman, children and old. Once this Divine Love makes its roots in the heart, person gets overwhelmed, drenched in this beautiful experience, where the mind goes into the zone of silence. The whole universe then exhibits the Divine dance of love One who has surrendered to the Lord is called a sufi. The sufi sings the Zikr, “La ilaha illalahu” There is no reality but God, there is only God. Zikr has three parts. The first is the denial of everything visible. Second is the explosion into the individual and the third part is the out breathing of Divine presence: HU. Sufi sings Hu; that which is, that which was and that which will be.
World becomes nothing more than an image stitched with gold thread in the tapestry, just the playful edition. Drunk in love, the lover calls out in longingness to the one that resides in the heart, but still seems so far. Nobody wishes a heaven if the price is death. Nobody wishes for immortality, if the cost is death. But this is what love is; death! But from this arises the resurrection of new you, pure virgin, loveful and now the calls of the heart get answered. Until the ego is alive, there is no possibility of love to happen. When darkness of ego is blown away with longings, urgency, search of the truth, this becomes possible. For Jalaluddin Rumi, it happened when Shams e Tabrezi arrived and stole his heart and mind. And then the love occupied this vacuum. Once someone asked Shams, whose head was full of ideas and desires, he said, “tell me about Divine mystery.” Shams said, “I cannot tell you the mystery. I can tell this mystery only to •someone in whom I can see myself. This mystery I will tell only to myself. I don’t see myself in you. I see someone else.”
“I cannot tell you the mystery. I can tell this mystery only to someone in whom I can see myself. This mystery I will tell only to myself. I don’t see myself in you. I see someone else.”
The mind has to be emptied of all attachments, greed, passion darkness. And for this, the teacher; the Shaikh has to hit lovefuly until the mind is shattered. The existence of the Beloved cannot be proven physically, nor it is a fantasy. This presence at best has been given many many names in different cultures, yet the presence remains nameless. You may call it Allah, Bharaman, Reality, Truth or any other word. Because that is what best mind can try to do; give the name to the nameless. The Shaikh is a mirror, a reminder of that presence, understanding of this mystery comes through the Shaikh and it transforms all the energies of the seeker. Rumi said, “I have phrases and whole pages memorized, but nothing can be told of love. You must wait until you begin to live the love. Be patient. But only patient.”
The journey which begins from love towards God a moment comes in this journey when finally the union happens all boundaries get dissolved. Then this I is no more different from that. As Al Hallaj Mansoor cried out, Anal Haqq-“I am That”(Truth) and then total emptiness. I is no more. So who will call whom? Just a vast emptiness. Which is best described by Sufis as “HU” That which exists. Hu means that which was, and will be. No word can ever contain the infinitude presence once the consciousness arises after this volcanic experience. On asking, what happened to you? Sufi says, HU.
Among many themes, this passage beautifully explains the mysteries of the Shems Rumi Phenomena, the role of a mystical teacher, the secret of death through love and the expulsion of the I for the one who seeks Hu. The above transcript can be taken as a mantra prescription for awakening the sleeping heart, mind and soul.
Gaze down now to view the reflection
A peek at the height of love’s perfection
I see Me
You see You
We see Him
How could this be?
As in reality we only see ONE imagery!
We’ve unlocked the key to our own Mystery
Our Unity
The Truth WE see
Not Blasphemy

“I Am” Said to Be the Secret of Secrets
Practitioners of the LOA tell us that “I Am…” is the secret of secrets and its utterance, understanding and practice leads to higher realites and promises a life of desired manifestation. It was brought to our attention in this sacred month (Muharram) from our Guides that “I am…” was a signature literary term used by the the englightened Imams of the Ahlul Bayt. From Sayyidna Ali, Hussain ibne Ali, Imam Sajjad and their sons. Likewise, the great Avatar Krishna, also believed to be Abu Turab; Master of the earth: the upmost; Ali, also delivered holy sermons through the power of I Am. OM HU ALI HAYY..Shhhhhh.

Dance, Movement and the Spiritual Way
Hu. Hayy. When we find ourselves inclined towards the act of motion, where a desire to simply allow source to flow through our being without interference from our separate self (ego), then know we are already in a state of spiritual dance. Then let down thy hair, let down thy hair and flow, let go, be free and spin, enrapture yourself in the sacred dance that has no rules! Find yourself moving ecstatically in motion; in trance, in the HU. Be in the HU, experience the HAYY in HU and subtly come back to earth.
Inhale, exhale: Hu, Hayy…
Movement, whether this defines Tai Chi, Yoga, belly dance, ballet or tennis, the very fact remains that our bodies require physical movement to enable, enhance and allow Chi to flow within, throughout and around us. A student of spirituality who fails to incorporate movement as part of their regimen, basically misses the point. Essence is kept hidden in movement. Quite commonly, we see in all spiritual orders and traditions that movement plays an integral role in the method of training administered to adherents. This may include chants coupled with dance or specified bodily movements which could vary from swaying, jumping, spinning or abstract movements with fluid energy flowing through the concerned limbs and extremities. Maintaining healthy spirituality requires us to break down the walls of resistance and return to the state of supple being; the natural disposition we came into this very abode with. The state of flow where Qudra-Chi flows with mastery within our inner being results in a happier, more grounded and unified adherent. The dervishes of the Mevlevi Order of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi perform the Sema Ceremony as an act of mirroring of the entire cosmos; a dance of cosmic love in order to connect with Love in the name of Love. The anti clock wise motion represents the universal phenomena of spin involving the macro; celestial bodies and micro, the atom. Through the ecstatic whirling ceremony, the Dervish representing the lover, ‘burns’ in Love scorching everything so that only Love (God) remains. “When fire burns in anguish to meet her beloved, all senses are diminished. She burns on cinders day and night and when fire achieves seclusion with fire, she turns to ash!” Hence, when our being is prepared, movement and dance results as second nature.
Not Two but One
Rumi drank
Shems drank
Both began to whirl
gradual and steady
speed altered
Spinning until all that existed vanished
Rumi and Shems spun in ecstasy
Drunk in love
The sema carried on the night through
Dawn exposed their frantic state
Both fused
Now only one
One body
One soul
One heart
Not two but ONE

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Allah! There is no God but He,
the Living, the Self-subsisting, the Eternal.
No slumber can seize Him, nor sleep.
All things in heaven and earth are His.
Who could intercede in His presence without His permission?
He knows what appears in front of and behind His creatures.
Nor can they encompass any knowledge of Him except what he wills.
His throne extends over the heavens and the earth,
and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them,
for He is the Highest and Most Exalted. (Quran 2: 255)
The Tao that can be described in words is not the true Tao
The Name that can be named is not the true Name
From non-existence were called Heaven and Earth
From existence all things were born
In being wthout desires, you experience the wonder
But by having desires, you experience te journey
Yet both spring from the same source
And differ mostly in name
This Source is called ‘Mystery”
Mystery upon Mystery
The womb giving birth to all of being( Tao Te Ching)
In reality, however, God does not have an image because He has no form, only an emanation of power which is called HuThe practice of Dhikr is formulated o bring us back to the awareness of Hu, the Soverin , Most High, who governs and encompasses all.

Historic Origins of Hu
The Supreme Being has been called by various names in different languages, but the mystics have known him as Hu, the natural name, not man-made, the only name of the Nameless, which all nature constantly proclaims. The sound Hu is most sacred; the mystics call Ism-i Azam, the name of the Most High, for it is the origin and end of every sound as well as the background of each word. The word Hu is the spirit of all sounds and of all words, and is hidden within them all, as the spirit in the body. It does not belong to any language, but no language can help belonging to it. This alone is the true name of God, a name that no people and no religion can claim as their own. This word is not only uttered by human beings, but is repeated by animals and birds. All things and beings proclaim this name of the Lord, for every activity of life expresses distinctly or indistinctly this very sound. This is the word mentioned in the Bible as existing before the light came into being, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.’
The sound HU becomes limited in the word “ham”, for the letter “m” closes the lips. In Hindustani this word expresses limitation because ham means “I” or “we,” both of which words signify ego. The word “hamsa” is the sacred word of the yogis which illumines the ego with the light of reality. The word “huma” in the Persian language stands for a fabulous bird. There is a belief that if the “huma” bird sits for a moment on someone’s head it is a sign that he will become a king. Its true meaning is that when a person’s thoughts so evolve that they break all limitation, then he becomes as a king. It is the limitation of language that it can only describe the Most High as something like a king. It is said in the old traditions that Zoroaster was born of a “huma” tree. This explains the words in the Bible, “Except a man be born of water and the spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” In the word “huma”, “hu” represents spirit, and the word “mah” in Arabic means water. In English the word “human ” explains two facts which are characteristic of humanity: “hu” means God and “man” means mind, which word comes from the Sanskrit “mana”, mind being the ordinary person. The two words united represent the idea of the God-conscious person; in other words HU, God, is in all things and beings, but it is man by whom He is known. “Human ” therefore may be said to mean God-conscious, God-realized, or God-man. (Hz. Inayat Khan-Mystic)
” The true healing power of sound comes from the chanting of harmonics”. Pir Vilayat Khan
The sound of the abstract is called Anahad in the Vedas, meaning unlimited sound. The Mystics name it Sarmad, which suggests the idea of intoxication. The word intoxication is here used to signify upliftment, the freedom of the soul from its earthly bondage. Those who are able to hear the Saut-i Sarmad and meditate on it are relieved from all worries, anxieties, sorrows, fears and diseases; and the soul is freed from captivity in the senses and in the physical body. The soul of the listener becomes the all-pervading consciousness, and his spirit becomes the battery which keeps the whole universe in motion.
Some train themselves to hear the Saut-i Sarmad in the solitude on the sea shore, on the river bank, and in the hills and dales; others attain it while sitting in the caves of the mountains, or when wandering constantly through forests and deserts, keeping themselves in the wilderness apart from the haunts of men. Yogis and ascetics blow Sing (a horn) or Shankha (a shell), which awakens in them this inner tone. Dervishes play Nai or Algosa (a double flute) for the same purpose. The bells and gongs in the churches and temples are meant to suggest to the thinker the same sacred sound, and thus lead him towards the inner life.
This sound develops through ten different aspects because of its manifestation through ten different tubes of the body; it sounds like thunder, the roaring of the sea, the jingling of bells, running the water, the buzzing of bees, the twittering of sparrows, the Vina, the whistle, or the sound of Shankha until it finally becomes Hu, the most sacred of all sounds.
This sound Hu is the beginning and the end of all sounds, be they from man, bird, beast, or thing. A careful study will prove this fact, which can be realized by listening to the sound of the steam engine or of a mill, while the echo of bells or gongs gives a typical illustration of the sound Hu. Hazrat Inayat Khan
“When the Sheik arrives at his post, he bows, sits on the post, and kisses the floor. All the turners sit, and their cloaks are put on them by those who did not turn in the fourth selam. They have returned to their tombs but in an altered state. The Sheik recites the Fathia, the first sura of the Koran, and all the dervishes kiss the floor and rise. The Sheik then sounds a prayer to Mevlana (Rumi) and Shams Tabriz and begins the sound “HU”. The dervishes join in sounding the “HU” which is all the names of God in one.” Shems Friedlander
Just as many traditions believe that the “OM” is the original creative sound, there are traditions that believe that this energy may be attributed to another sound—the “HU”. In the Shabd Yoga traditions, including Master Path and Eckankar and in the mystical Islamic path of the “HU” is considered to be the highest vibratory mantra that can be sounded. Chanting the “HU” is said to lead one to transcendence—to God realization and enlightenment.
“HU” is believed to be the universal name of God, which is present in every existing language. The “HU” sound has been described as many things from the buzzing of bees to the rushing of wind to the flute of God. It is said to be present in the words we speak, in the sounds of animals; that it is the wind in the trees, the rushing of waters, the roaring of water falls, the beat of the sea against a beach—that it is everywhere, in every plane.
Like the “AH” and the “OM”, the “HU” may be perceived of as a seed syllable. Depending upon its pronunciation, it may also be perceived of as a vowel sound—the “U”. The “HU” creates extraordinary energy for balance and clearing. Many believe it activates both the heart and the crown chakras. When sounded together in a large group, it is extremely powerful and transformative. Jonathan Goldman

Brief Intro
Mantras have an extraordinary importance like the “HU”, like other Mantras is a “word of power”. Mantras are listened to or recited for many different purposes, as a means of achieving different states of consciousness, to create resonance with specific attributes of Divine Energy, and to manifest different qualities from resonating the chakras to embodying compassion.
The HU inspiration came out of passion. A desire to release the Supreme Name “HU” into the universe through remote meditation bringing together seekers from all spiritual paths all embracing and joining together for the sake of LOVE. We seek Unity through common ground.
My first introduction to the sacred name HU came to me during my early teens when I was sent to the ancient land of India with my future spiritual mentor. Prior to this trip, I befell the teachings of Idris Shah. In it, he explained that Mystics rely not on knowledge from books, rather knowledge which is poured directly in to the heart of the seeker through Divine Grace; Heart to Heart (Owaisi Transmission).. This concept intrigued my curiosity in what seemed odd but deeply resonated. Thus, following my heart, I recall sitting still in nature, simply observing, contemplating and awaiting for this phenomena to strike-more like an experiment which proved true as Idris Shah explained. Jotting notes of what was pouring into my heart, I started recording these mysterious words of wisdom in my diary.. A favorite one till today was about the wise owl who remains awake at night reciting HU while majority of mankind in deep slumber. Ever since, I’m simply enchanted with HU.
